Optimising the race to #netzero

We often believe the science is clear. Data and facts speak for themselves. So why isn’t everyone acting swiftly?

Relationships deliver results. Not just talking about facts or pushing people for change.

Whatever you do as a changemaker, it’s important to remember in every meeting and conversation that there should be a large part of relationship-building before getting into the nitty-gritty of numbers and research results.

Currently COP27 is happening in Egypt. The 27th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change will build on the outcomes of COP26 to deliver action on an array of issues critical to tackling the climate emergency – from urgently reducing greenhouse gas emissions, building resilience and adapting to the inevitable impacts of climate change, to delivering on the commitments to finance climate action in developing countries.

Many of you will be following the news on COP27 – and how this might be impacting some of your work. Not every piece of news will be positive. This can have a negative emotional impact on you and the people you work with. Be aware of this. Climate grief and feeling hopeless is real and needs to be worked through in similar ways as other grief. Yes, stakeholders have feelings, too.

I’m currently completing a course on Climate Change Coaching – focusing on moving people from a point of frustration and feeling powerless to stepping into feeling empowered to create change and act with confidence. If this sounds interesting, reach out here to discuss more.

In the meantime, I leave you with a reminder of what else is important to take care of in this race to #netzero… watch this short video by clicking on the image.

Naturally yours,
